Der ehemalige Undercover-Ermittler Colin McLaren zeichnet die Karrieren von sechs außergewöhnlichen Mafiapaten nach, die das organisierte Verbrechen in New York stark beeinflusst haben. Nach seiner Verhaftung führt Carmine "The Snake" Persico die Geschäfte der Familie aus dem Gefängnis heraus weiter. Er ordnet Morde an und kontrolliert seine Stellvertreter. Schließlich wird er zum Verräter und stürzt die Mafia in einen blutigen Krieg.
